  The history of candy dates back to the first man. The cave man created the idea of candy by eating honeycombs and honey. In 1200 B.C the first cocoa to be grown was grown by the Oleic Indians. The first milk chocolate was made in 1879. In the 20th century the Heresy Kiss was made. In 1913 the chocolate bonbon was made In 1926 Vitamins were added to candy. Candy sales increased in 1997. In 2002 Hershey in dustiest became the number one candy maker.

Boston, and New York, The industry soon spread to the Midwest; because shipping and raw materials such as sugar, corn syrup, and milk were easily available Chicago became the seat of the candy bat industry and even today remains an important base.
